My best friend (he is 61) wants to go to a hotel. he had his first phfizer shot march 7th..second shot to be on march 28th. is it safe for him to be at a hotel starting around march 26th for about 10 days. (he will still get the shot on 28th?

His age does put him at higher risk for getting sick should he get COVID. But, he will have some protection by having his first dose of the vaccine so this lessens his risk of getting sick, even if he does get COVID. Only he can decide if the risk, even if less, is worth taking. If he chooses to go, wearing a mask, social distance, frequent hand washing should all still be followed. Good luck!

Agree with Dr. Ferranti. One dose offers partial protection and it is imperative that you friend observe mask and social distancing.
