Although not common, both, muscle pain and joint pain, have been reported. As a rule of thumb, when a new medication is introduced to a given patient, if a new symptom appears shortly after starting the new drug, one should suspect the relationship and try stopping it. After the symptom resolves, one can give a second trial to determine whether or not it is the offending factor.
