Back pain : I have seen many people with back pain. I can't tell you how important an in-person examination is needed to help you. More details are needed; the information about the accident and nature of the pain physically and subjectively. Did the leg swelling occur at the same time? If so, I am concerned about a pelvic issue. See a doctor

Needs sorting out: Clearly, the combination of focal left lower back pain and apparent edema of both feet and legs, is not the usual presentation of a pinched nerve in the back. You need imaging, a physician's exam, possible vascular and/or nerve studies. This complexity needs to be thoroughly assessed. Stop the "pain killers" and uncover causation.
