I would not: The saliva has antibacterial qualities that make any medication used that way unnecessary. At most I will apply some peroxide to bubble out any mucus debris but this turns to water after use & does not leave a residual.

Not recommended. Majority of topicals are clearly labeled for external use only. Using a listerine like mouth wash may expedite healing.
