TMJ treatment : The most common cause of jaw and ear pain is from TMJ syndrome. If you’ve been to your physician and they’ve checked your ears and they are normal in appearance, this is the most likely cause. You should discuss this problem with your dentist or oral surgeon for best management options. Typically, going on a soft diet for three weeks and using round-the-clock anti-inflammatories is a good start.

? neuralgia: Agree with Dr Archer, and the most likely cause would be TMJ dysfunction. However, if this turns out to be non-productive, there is a rare condition which indeed causes "severe pain" in ear and jaw: NERVUS INTERMEDIUS NEURALGIA. You will need a neurologist to assess this, if all else fails.
