Furuncle?: A mole is NOT painful, red or swollen. Sounds more like a furuncle (large pimple). If its been there for several days and not going away by itself, see a doctor to have it lanced and (maybe) an antibiotic

Have it examined: It sounds like a possible superficial infection/ abscess and being on the face the potential for scarring should be considered as well. Start with your GP who can further coordinate.
