Im pregnant with a son. id like to avoid circumcision as the pros do not outweigh the cons in my mind. though there are a lot of social pressure to do the procedure anyway. is there anything wrong with skipping out on the procedure?

Discuss with peds: Aware of emerging controversies. Unless you have a religious obligation, this could be an independent decision. But get the full panoply of benefits vrs downsides from your pediatrician. The timing of circumcision can indeed vary and decisions can be altered.

No : It is still an elective procedure, despite the social pressures, and it sounds like you have already given it considerable thought. You (and your partner) need to be comfortable with whatever decision you make.
