Very Rare: True loss of Sneeze reflex is uncommon. It can be caused by Psychiatric problems or issues with the brain's lateral medulla. If a person actively inhibits sneezing, the neck muscles can tense and cause a neck spasm. It can also cause increased intracranial pressure and lead to the extremely rare complication of ruptured blood vessels in eyes, ears or brain.
