Knee replacement ? : Knee replacements need vigorous physical therapy (PT) starting on the day of surgery, and usually for at least a week following. If the PT is not done effectively, scar tissue may form, restricting range of motion. Next may be general anesthesia and passive therapy to break the adhesions, but if this fails, repeat knee replacement or open surgery may be required.
