A member asked:

What are worrisome side effects 12 hours after hida scan? the nurse didn't tell me my ejection fraction, just that the test was bad, and scheduled surgery today for 2/18 (soonest possible opening)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Gallbladder: HIDA scan evaluates the function of your gallbladder. If ejection fraction is low, removal of the gallbladder is recommended, but it is not an emergency. It is best to minimize fatty foods (which need gallbladder function to digest well) in the meantime to minimize pain episodes, but waiting until Feb 18 should be ok.
