A member asked:

I had mri of head without contrast. the senior resident of neurology said that it is normal. does it mean that the optic nerve is also healthy? can optic nerve status/health be checked through mri?, apart from a dilated eye exam?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

MRI results: Assuming that MRI was read accurately, this means that all the visualized intracranial contents were overtly within the expected normal outcome. This does NOT mean that parts are "healthy", only that structure appears appropriate.
