Depends: Knitting is productive and keeps hands in motion. Many find it helpful to decrease anxiety or prevent the hands from picking skin (pickers disease). At the start the brain is active in learning different schemes and this is healthy as it creates new movement patterning. After many repetitions thus activity becomes automatic do ‘new’ learning doesn’t occur, but gratitude for gifts makes smiles!
