Do our brain cells grow back ?

"plasticity": We have known for years that neuronal damage can be compensated by emergence of alternative brain pathways and new dendritic connections. Lately, there has been some evidence of healing and recovery of brain cells, but this does depend upon the extent of damage. Myelin can recover, neuronal cell bodies cannot, and axonal and dendritic connections are variable.

Brain Cells: Dr. M. provided a wonderful response for you. I'd add that we used to think brain cells did not regenerate but now we know differently. There are also dietary and brain exercises ways to help this process. A neuropsychologist or nutritionist who works in that area may be helpful. Peace and good health.
