Medications: Each doctor might approach this differently. I would likely start by treating one of the conditions. Would likely prescribed an SSRI for the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and approach ADHD at a later time. ADHD might be treated with a stimulant if there is no substance abuse history. But there are other options.

Complex problem : I recommend first addressing the PTSD, as those symptoms can also masquerade as ADHD. Use cognitive behavioral therapy and medication. SNRIs may be more effective than SSRIs for dual management due to the norepinephrine effect. Depending on response and patient history, a trial of stimulant med or stratera could be added for ADHD. Each person’s response to Rx is different & needs individualization
