D & C/ Polypectomy: The D & C will open the cervix temporarily to allow complete removal of the polyp. The curettage (C) or scrapping of the endometrium will not impact future conception or childbearing unless it is done far too vigorously resulting in Asherman's syndrome which results in scarring of the interior of the uterus. Post procedure recovery is very rapid and usually does not result in incompetent cervix.
