Very uncommon!: Naegleria Fowleri is an ameba that can enter with fresh water from a lake up through the nasopharynx and into the brain via the olfactory nerve. Once in the brain it will form a cyst where reproduction can occur. Once in the brain the cyst causes Primary amebic meningoencephalitis. Primary symptoms include severe headache, nausea, vomiting and high fever. These can progress to seizures and coma.
