A member asked:

Can naegleria fowleri survive outside water to cause infection?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes , it can survive outside water but only in the cyst form which has so far been not been found to be infective in animal experiments. When water is added to its environment, it can change to the infective form ,which can cause infection of the brain if the it goes up the nose to the brain.
