Uncontrolled a1c of 7.now low carb diet. now averaging 92 blood sugar fasting. 90-110 from noon to dinner time. however 1-2 hours into work lifting10 lbs repetitive it spikes to 140-170 for 2 hours then 2 hour back down. is this an issue worth meds?

Sugar spikes: Blood sugar can definitely rise in diabetics during vigorous exercise as a result of stress hormones released. If you keep your HgbA1c between 6.5 and7, your diabetes is in good control and I wouldn't worry about your transient spikes in blood sugar during exercise. In addition , your fasting and postprandial blood sugars are fine. I feel your diabetes is diet controlled with no need for medicatio
