My 9 year old is on atomoxetine 25mg for adhd. what is a good anti depressant or anxiety med that helps with anxiety that doesnt interact poorly with it? her dr prescribed fluoxetine but had to decrease the dose to 5mg because of the interactions?

Close to same dose: The medication your doctor put your child on is excellent for childhood depression and anxiety. That medication and Strattera are both metabolized by a certain system in the liver. When on the antidepressant, the Strattera hangs around in body much longer, so you can get away with a much lower dose, but actual levels in body are close to same. If ADHD problems, can gradually increase Strattera.
