Miscarriage ?'s: A miscarriage at "18 weeks" of pregnancy is unusual, and the placenta may not have been expressed completely, or a fragment of the placenta may still be retained. See your OB physician who may order a pelvic ultrasound to determine the cause. A rapid stillborn delivery may also injure the perineum, and cause rectal communication with the vagina, causing the odor.
