Go to the ER...: A miscarriage can be a very bloody, painful and scary event. Very early in your pregnancy, you may be able to get through it on your own. (<9 weeks) Later in the pregnancy (7+ weeks) you may need help from a doctor. A D&C is sometimes necessary to stop the bleeding and make sure everything is out of the uterus. If you are having persistent, heavy bleeding go to the ER.
