Custom orthotics : Sesamoiditis is a complicated problem for runners. You have to push off the ball of foot. Being a competitive runner a custom orthotics with some modifications will allow you to run. I use to cut the sesamoid bone horizontally in half or removal is last option. The orthotics are your best option. A sports podiatrist is whom I would recommend.
