Side effect?: If he did not have this problem off Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine), (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) did the doc suggest stopping it? If not, why not? Get a second opinion. Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) is a stimulant & can certainly affect heart rate. Re-evaluate the need for it and try alternative treatments if needed. It's important to be sure that he does not have an underlying heart problem, too. You're right to be concerned. Be sure you're happy with doc's advice.
