However, a lot of what you might buy over the counter is likely to be ineffective. Would look into prescription medications with a medical provider if you have not been able to lose and sustain weight loss through other methods.

Weight loss: First step should be to see your GP for a complete Physical to rule out a metabolic cause for your high BMI. If there are no physiologic causes, it then becomes a matter of calories in-calories out. A nutritionist's help can be invaluable.
