My son is 2 years old. he often looses his voice and it becomes croaky. it may last weeks or day and then comes right for a while. he then looses it again and it becomes hoarse and croaky. he is not sick in any way. should i be worried ?

Hoarseness: Children can become hoarse (loosing his voice) due to environmental contaminants such as second hand smoke, pollution or fumes. Chronic allergies can also cause hoarseness as can vocal nodules due to overuse. Look to the environment first and see if you can remove any irritating contaminants. If this doesn't help within a month or so, then take him to see his Dr for a thorough exam.
