A member asked:

Why does diamox reduce my papilodema and optic nerve swelling, but not my intracranial pressure or symptoms. have been on highest amounts for years?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pseudotumor cerebri: Diamox does not always last consistently, as tolerance may develop. Hard to say, however, that it is failing in view of stability in eye grounds. To fully objectify, recommend a lumbar puncture to assess pressures. If you are experiencing bad headaches or visual obscurational episodes, there maybe some need for rapidity. Contact your neurologist or neurosurgeon.
