The symptoms you describe are classic migraine (vascular) headache ; be aware these usually have major buried human/emotional underpinnings, though usually treated by most physicians (ineffectively ; with complications) as just a body problem.

Yes: Normal opening pressure is up to 15. You can have all of the sx you describe with an opening pressure of 18. The lack of optic swelling is a good finding but it does not eliminate the need to address the pressure as a cause of your symptoms. Talk with your doctor about this, .
