A member asked:

I have a pinched nerve lower back right side, but an experiencing numbness in my cheeks when i touch it doesnt feel numb. what can this be? could it be a pinched nerve somewhere else? as ive been having back problems?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Needs evaluation: Lower back nerve compression (radiculopathy) results in radiating pain, numbness, and/ or weakness in the leg at the level of nerve involvement. It would be unlikely to have buttock numbness with the usual disc issue. Would contact your doctor to discuss your questions further, and design a physical therapy and exercise program.
