Face numbness: This is not coming from neck or upper back. This could be Trigeminal nerve or facial nerve. Also look out for any drooping that might suggest Bells Palsy

Focal facial numb: Sensory trigeminal neuropathy is likely a viral caused entity affecting only part of one side of face. It is not painful like a neuralgia, is self-limited and dissipates after a few weeks. Early on Bell's palsy may start with "weird" sensation but shortly it appears that the side of the face is not moving properly. Neither is due to stress, anxiety, or problems in neck and back.
