Hard to know: In general it takes a few years in service for the length of protection of any vaccine to be understood with any confidence. Given this strain of covid has only been with us for just over a year & the 2 approved vaccines for weeks, we have high hopes but the data will tike time to accumulate. Whether or not the germ could mutate enough to make present vaccines less effective is also unknown.

COVID 19 vaccine: Agree with Dr. Ferguson. We haven't had the vaccines around long enough to know for sure. It is believed that immunity would last for at least 3 to 6 months but of course, it is hoped that it will last for a year or more. We will have to wait and see.
