I heard its not good to get covid vaccines after recently having covid due to lots of antibodies. im traveling next month and need to be vaccinated. i dont want to risk serious complications from getting second dose after having covid. thoughts?

The current recommendation is to wait 10 days after testing positive, or after your symptoms have resolved. You should be ok soon. I have not seen complications from the vaccine even when given not too long after illness, but of course you may have more of a reaction as you are just getting over the infection. If more than 10 days and feeling back to normal, should be ok.

Get vaccinated 10 days after you are afebrile from the infection. Many people have a mild reaction of fever, muscle aches, sleepiness or tiredness. You may take acetaminophen for the fever/aches. No more than 4 g in one day. No alcohol. Wish you good health!
