COVID 19: PCR testing tends to be pretty accurate. However, it is most accurate if one waits 5 to 7 days after COVID 19 exposure or once symptomatic. Don't know when your friend actually tested. If he tested early and it was before you all had your meeting - it is possible that COVID 19 would not be picked up - especially on an antigen test.
