Im on day 9 since testing positive for covid. i tested positive 3 days ago during a visit for a chest x-ray. is it possible to test today and get a negative?

Yes. Especially if a less precise assay is being used such as antigen assay. Even possible with more precise PCR assay, but this is even less likely. Especially if antigen assay was used, stay in self-quarantine for at least 10 days (14 days even safer for those around you)
