My friend has covid symptoms since last thursday night. rapid test negative!he is waiting for the pcr results. if pcr comes back positive, and he began quarantine last thursday night, except for urgent care visit, until when would need to quarantine?

If Positive: If you friend has COVID 19 symptoms, he should stay in quarantine until his PCR is negative, three days without fever, and no symptoms, whichever is longer, minimum 14 days from the onset of symptoms. If negative, consider other causes such as the flu. Treat symptoms, take Tylenol for fever control, drink fluids and rest.
