Knee injury ?'s: A "cracking sound" after trauma/fall, with knee bending or external pressure may arise from a fractured patella ("knee cap"). While this is not an emergency, a simple x-ray or CT scan will determine the probably diagnosis. See an orthopedic physician for treatment.
