Hi, my little girl is 8 years old and her permanent lateral incisors has not come up as yet. she has these gaps thats making her feel less confident as most kids in her class has almost a full set of teeth. please advise.

May need to extrude: Take her to Dentist,he/she can take Xray to make sure the lateral incisor is just imbedded but not congenitally missing. If imbedded ,the tooth can be Orthodontically forced to erupt in in it’s position . If congenitally missing ,will need to wait till the age of 18 and replace the tooth with implant retained tooth . In the mean time a retainer can be made to keep the space open and provide a temp

Missing teeth: Lateral incisors may be impacted. It's more likely, however, that they are congenitally missing. Please see a dento-facial growth and development expert, a specialist Orthodontist. Whether impacted or congenitally missing, your daughter will need an Orthodontist's help. And by the way, Standard of Care is that all children have their 1st Orthodontic Exam by Age 7. Go get an opinion.
