OK: Absolutely no way to examine your child in this forum. That said, I assume you are seeing a university trained specialist Orthodontist, the dental expert best trained to diagnose and treat your child's malocclusion. The mechanotherapy you describe, expansion + reverse pull head gear, is mainstream if upper jaw narrow and too far back.
