Joint cracking.: The vertebra in your neck will rotate as your head turns, The sound is that release of the pressure in the vertebra. It can be amplified if you were in a quiet environment. You have not injured anything, but I would not attempt to adjust this often as it will become hypermobile. Follow up with your PCP is suggested.
