A member asked:

Good morning. i have had a re-occurring jock itch for almost a year now. i have tried all kinds of over the counter cream but nothing will clear it up. it is only on my right side. it does not get raw or anything but it has become an issue. is there anything i can be prescribed for this without having to go into a doctor's office? itching for almost a year?

Prescription: You will have to be examined to determine the cause of your symptoms. Either see your GP, go to Urgent Care, or sign into one of the many (Including HealthTap one-on-one virtual examination sites. This is an educational site for general health care questions. We cannot prescribe on this site.

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. If antifungal treatment has not worked, it may not be jock itch. It would be prudent to see a doctor, preferably a dermatologist. Wish you good health!
