I want to fast for wiegt loss , i am planning to fast a week at a time . i just wanted to hear a professional opinion before i dedicate myself. how should i then break my fast at the end of the week and after how long could i fast again ?

Different approach: Fasting for a week is not a good way to lose weight or maintain good health, Reduce your intake by half, drink enough water so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 30 minutes/day. Aim to reduce weight by one pound per week, If you are losing less than that, reduce your intake of food further. Consult a nutritionist. Wish you good health!

Fasting: If you desire to fast, intermittent fasting would be a safer and more effective approach. This could entail only eating for 4 hours per day or eating for 6 hours per day. Please do some research before taking any actions.
