Ear examination: Have you had an ear examination? If not, see an otolaryngologist for evaluation. Ear wax could be the cause of your symptoms but other causes are to ruled out by the evaluation. Occasionally a blocked eustachian tube in the back of your nose is a cause of ear symptoms.

Tinnitus : Tinnitus is a common symptom for many people. If it occurs intermittently in both ears, that is considered relatively normal. Furthermore, people often perceive that there is a slight reduction in their hearing, when they hear the tone. However, I would recommend seeing an ENT doctor to get an exam and comprehensive hearing testing.
