Muscle pain: If you have been coughing and are otherwise well, chest wall muscular pain is one possible cause. Application of local heat may be helpful. Other causes though include bronchospasm, pneumonia and a heart condition. Watch for signs of chest pressure, shortness of breath, wheezing and please follow up with your physician.
