Rarely use nasal irrigation bottle and rinse tip with very hot water. do not use soap in bottle fearing residue. any danger not using soap? again rarely used and only distilled water. fearing more harm than good now?

Cleaning : Soap uses ionic bonds to remove bacteria, viruses, mold etc when combined with water. This will not necessarily occur with rinsing alone. Can rub surface of bottle in combination with water to remove soap residue.
