Probable shingles: If the sensation is on the skin like your description and with the age group it sounds like it could be because of previous viral infection that may be getting reactivated in the skin. I am not sure where you are and if you had shingles vaccine but it may be a consideration to have if it is available where you are. There are medications to limit duration and severity of such reactivation with MD.
