If child looks sick: ...see a physician soon. If you treat the fever with ibuprofen or acetaminophen (there are online calculations to check the right dose for weight), and your child looks better, then it is usually OK to wait a few days. If your child looks sicker, is not drinking well, is having a significant cough with difficulty breathing, then see physician very soon.
