Gastroenteritis: The most important thing to do is to keep him hydrated. Give him 100ml of water or electrolyte solution every 30 minutes. He will most likely not want to eat anything solid, but if he does, give him only bananas, plain rice, toast, apples and crackers. The virus should go through his system in 3-5 days.

Agree with Dr K: I agree with Dr. Kratzberg; however, if he vomits despite that, please give him nothing to eat or drink for at least 2 hours, then start with sips of water or juice or licks of icepops or lollipops. This drips in fluids slower and the sugar can help to settle his stomach. Also make sure that he is urinating. If he continues vomiting or isn't urinating, please contact his doctor.
