Cellulitis/abscess: Skin infections on the hand are typically caused by bacteria. Zovirax is an antiviral that does not treat bacteria. Fucidin is a topical antibiotic which can only treat superficial infections. Abscesses require oral antibiotics for deep tissue infection. Talk to your Dr for a course of Cephalexin or Doxycycline.
