Sinusitis: Nasal polyps can cause improper drainage of sinus fluid which can lead to a sinus infection. Tooth/face pain, headache and pressure behind the eyes is typical for Sinusitis. Do daily hypertonic nasal saline washes (using 2 packets of salt solution per bottle of warm purified water) This will clear out the mucus and bacteria and allow for soothing of the inflamed sinus tissue.

Go back to same ER: Because viral colds cause sinus congestion and even pain sometimes doctors try to avoid treatment with antibiotics on initial presentation because they are rarely needed. Whether your polyps are the cause or not if these symptoms have been for over a week and are still getting worse you likely have a bacterial infection that needs to be treated with Augmentin or cefuroxime for a minimum of 2 weeks
