Sleep environment: neck stiffness on waking is commonly attributed to poor sleep position. Sleep position can be affected by the loft of your pillow (too high, too low), the firmness of your bed, and other environmental factors. Suggest that you evaluate your sleep conditions and see if changing any of the factors helps.
