Larger opening.: While both Men and Women have inguinal canals, males tend to have slightly larger openings due to the fact that the testicles descend through this canal and into the scrotum during developement. The opening may not close completely or remain weak. Women have a large ligament that runs through the canal and holds their uterus, so abdominal organs etc, cannot pass.
